TRAVAX SL Services

The SL license complements TRAVAX with several valuable services and product purchase discounts.

Access to TRAVAX EnCompass
This web site consolidates Shoreland's travel health content in an easy-to-browse, easy-to-print format and features several exclusive items you'll want to use (see EnCompass Overview for more information):

  • Provider Summaries—These concise reports of health risks and preventive measures for each destination are the result of Shoreland's medical advisors' evaluation of a compilation of raw data and analysis of recommendations from authoritative sources, including CDC, WHO, Health Canada, and national Ministries of Health.
  • Hospitals & Clinics—Information is provided for facilities used by travelers and expatriates in more than 130 cities in 60 countries, with additions being made regularly.
  • Maps—In addition to Shoreland’s malaria and yellow fever maps, EnCompass provides both a general map and a detailed political map for each country, making it a convenient geography resource.

News Alerts
This is a service designed to deliver travel-health-related news to you via e-mail whenever there is important information to report. News Alert content falls into 2 categories (see sample):

  • Update Alert—Information that will be incorporated into TRAVAX and TRAVAX EnCompass according to the standard update cycle, offering you timely notice of these items.
  • In Other News—Additional travel health and safety items that your clients may see in the press and ask about. These are items of a transient or expected nature that don't warrant undue emphasis in TRAVAX or EnCompass. Nonetheless, you'll want to be aware of them.

Literature Watch Reviews
This service delivers annotated summaries of journal articles shaping the practice of travel medicine in an e-mail format (see sample). Physicians monitor the contents of a select group of medical journals to identify timely articles that meet the following criteria:

  • Relevance—The article deals directly with concerns of travelers or expatriates and offers information with a practical application in your practice.
  • Uniqueness—The article addresses a conclusive change in the standard of care based on solid evidence; presents new information on prevention guidelines, products, or health regulations; is a touchstone article on a topic; or contributes a worthwhile topic to the base of travel health information presented in TRAVAX EnCompass.

Literature Watch Review items are added to EnCompass and are accessible via the Literature Watch Reviews link that appears for many topics in the Provider Resources section. Literature Watch Reviews appear in standard TRAVAX update summaries as well.
