Travel & Routine Immunizations
A Practical Guide for the Medical Office

Introduction | Overview | Price & Ordering

Published annually since 1992, Travel & Routine Immunizations, now in its 18th edition, keeps you current with immunization practices and guidelines for travelers and non-travelers alike. Included are recommendations from the ACIP, AAP, CDC, WHO, and Shoreland. Shoreland recommendations focus on the risk to the individual traveler and reflect a synthesis and reconciliation of advice from CDC, ACIP, AAP, and WHO, ongoing global surveillance, and the published literature. Popularly known as the "Blue Book," Travel & Routine Immunizations provides the clinical practitioner with detailed vaccine information on U.S.-licensed vaccines as well as many non-U.S.-licensed vaccines – from indications for vaccination to administration, contraindications, side effects, and special considerations (e.g., entry requirements). The guide also includes general information on immunization practices (e.g., storage and handling), information on new vaccines, accelerated immunization schedules, minimum age and interval guidance, 29 concise tables, and practical information on traveler preparation.

"This book, which happens to be blue, has a place on the immunization provider's shelf along with the yellow, red and green books. You may eventually find, as I did, that the blue book is the first one you pull out when questions arise."
L. Jeannine Petry, MD, The Journal of Family Practice, November 1995, pg. 507

"Even routine immunizations of children and adults are changing rapidly enough to make this an essential reference in a physician's office...Altogether, the Guide is a much more comprehensive set of information about vaccines than can be found in other publications...I highly recommend it for every physician's office where vaccines are administered."
William A. Petri, Jr., Parasitology Today, July 1997, pp. 277-278
